Media Stereotypes

Stereotypes used in media are often tend to influence the way people think. People around the world are often influenced by things that media portray to us. FoAdd Imager an example, media always portray Sri Lanka people as a refugee and a war country. This makes most people scared to go Sri Lanka. However, the truth is not all Sri Lankans are refugee. There are still rich people in Sri Lanka. Besides that, media also often portray Africa and India as a poor country. This made me to think India is a poor country until one day I went to India and I realized that India is not a poor country as what media show us. These stereotypes often tend to make people to believe it is true especially to those who don't know the real truth.

yes, i agree with your statement....India is not a poor country as media shows us... But,there are three different financial status among India citizens...Very rich, moderately rich & very poor....Since most people in cities are quite wealthy,India should not be considered a poor country...
